Long Description |
The America Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is having a profound impact on America's legal system. And because of that, the influence of the ACLU is being felt in every corner of our culture. Many of the battles this organization is fighting should be cause for alarm for anyone with a sense of national morality and justice. What is most sobering, however, is the ACLU's stand on issues that affect you and your family.
Trial and Error contains true stories which chronicle the way the ACLU has carried out these policies. True accounts that tell the real story.
In his familiar, thorough style, George Grant methodically uncovers the ACLU's founding, strategy, and undeniable track record.
You may already think that you know something about this powerful organization. This book is guaranteed to reveal that you probably don't know enough.

Inside Flap |
All the kids were excited. And well they should have been. They had worked hard on their parts for weeks on end. Their teacher, Lissa Coniaris, had really put them through the paces-as she had with other kids in that elementary school for the past eighteen years.
It was all about to pay off though. Dress rehearsal for the Christmas pageant was about to begin. The costumes were all aflutter. The smell of greasepaint filled the air. Proud parents snapped photos and circled the cacophonous scene with video cameras whirring.
But then came the bad news. The school's principal made his way across the auditorium, through the crowd, and up to Mrs. Coniaris. He pulled her aside and told her that the program had to be called off. Not postponed. Not rescheduled. But canceled altogether. The principal was chagrined. Mrs. Coniaris was flabbergasted. The parents were outraged. And the children were crushed. But there was absolutely nothing that any of them could do about it.
It seems that a member of the district's school board had been notified by a local attorney that the Christmas pageant constituted a "gross violation" of the "the endorsement and establishment clauses of the First Amendment." He warned that, should the program be presented, the district would be placed in a very precarious legal position.
And what was it that made the pageant this year such legal contraband? "Well," Mrs. Coniaris explained, "toward the end of the program the kids were to sing medley of carols-Silent Night and Away in a Manager and a couple of others. Really it wasn't going to be any different than what we'd done every year for the last eighteen years. But, I guess even that kind of moderate expression of our culture's Judeo-Christian roots is now illegal. It's like stories we used to hear about coming out of Russia. I just can't believe that something like this can happen here in America."
But it does. It happens here in America all the time. |

The ACLU is notorious for its vigorous support of anti-Christian policies in America, and has been one of the most effective agencies for the secularization and demonization of American law. As Grant shows, the ACLU supports child pornography, legalization of drugs, prostitution, abortion, mandatory sex education, and polygamy. Trial and Error contains true stories that chronicle the way the ACLU has carried out these policies. In his familiar, thorough style, Grant methodically uncovers the ACLU's founding, strategy, and undeniable track record. You may think you already know something about this powerful organization.
