Peak Oil or Peak Farmland: Take Your Pick

This video offers hope . . . if peak oil is not true.

The greens will not use it to warn people about peak oil, because it shows that the world has been getting greener. Why? Because there is more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

The world has not been getting warmer because of carbon dioxide since about 1996, but it has gotten greener.

It wasn't supposed to be this way, according to the greens. Such is life. Bad theories get thwarted by uncaring facts.

The world is farming less land than in 1960. About 38% of the world's arable land is being used for farming. If the same non-fossil fuel technologies that were used in 1960 were used today, it would be 82%.

Scholars call this substitution of hybrid seeds and oil for pre-1960 technologies and techniques "the green revolution." It really is.

Do you know how many species mankind has destroyed in non-island environments since 1500? No, you don't. You may think you do, but you don't. This video tells you.

It tells a lot more. But it fails to mention this: the price of oil has risen by a factor of 6 since 1999. What will happen if it does this again?
