As the editor-in-chief of a Christian homeschooling magazine, and a writer to and for several different Christian publications, whatever I write or publish must be biblical. Having easy access to a searchable Bible makes the process quite a bit easier. I have found BibleGateway.com to be an invaluable tool for this purpose. It's a free online resource that makes searching for passages in multiple translations easy and accurate. When quoting a verse, I simply cut and paste it from BibleGateway.com. When verifying a writer's quotation, again, I can quickly locate the verse and compare... or cut-and-paste a different translation into its place.

Another great feature is the "Additional Resources" link that would allow anyone to go further, into Commentaries, Dictionaries, Concordances, and other Study Tools right your fingertips wherever you can get to the internet.
