Nov. 14, 2009

If you have ever thought about incorporating your own business, now is the time. Between now and December 5, 2009, this company will set one up for free. Normally, it costs $149.

I run my Website, "Gary North's Specific Answers" as a Subchapter-S corporation: GaryNorth.com, Inc. The money passes through to me and my wife, who owns half. I pay taxes on the net income: income tax, Social Security (FICA), and dividends.

You should talk with a CPA as to what is best set-up for you. I have prepared a report on this: "Ten Questions to Ask a CPA Before You Incorporate." It covers such issues as Social Security, health insurance payments, retirement programs, inheritance, divorce, and deferred income accounting. It is posted here:

You should talk with an attorney about legal matters regarding limited liability. Just don't let him set it up.

You can set it up in either Delaware or Nevada. Both are good states for incorporating.
