Commercial and Industrial Bank Loans in Late 2009: The Decline Continues.

We are told that economic recovery began in late 2009. Bankers are not impressed. These loans are down about 18% from a year earlier, but 2008 was the nation's worst recession since 1937.
If businesses are not borrowing from banks, their money for expansion must come from profits. Profits these days come from cutting costs, especially labor costs.
