The Five Parts of a Speech
Gary North
July 31, 2010 If you are afraid of public speaking, I offer my 5 rules for a competent speech. This guideline can be used by anyone, although it's most obvious for pastors.
1. Start with a text.
2. Stick to the text.
3. Get to the point.
4. Call them to commit.
5. Give them legitimate hope. You can't go too far wrong with these rules. I taught them to a group of 250 college students on Wednesday, July 28. Then I gave my lecture, showing them step by step how to do it. The speech was on the academic career of economist Murray Rothbard. http://bit.ly/GNMU2010 This worked, as you can hear.
