I recommend that you keep a special kind of journal: a problems/solutions journal.
Your goal here is to create a record of your problem-solving. After a few years, you may detect a pattern. If you can, you may be able to create a subscription website where people will pay you to help them solve problems in your field.
Every solution is a potential asset. If you create a site with real-world stories that illustrate approaches to solving problems, people will pay you.
If you review your journal every few weeks, you will get a sense of accomplishment: minor victories that are cumulative. They add up.
I write 50 articles a week. I do not keep a journal. I don't think anyone would pay me to tell them how I solve the problem of writing 50 articles a week. But people will pay you if you can help them deal with problems common in your industry.
