Earlier to Rise

Gary North

Sept. 29, 2012

As I get older, I need less sleep. About three years ago, I started getting up at 4 a.m. instead of 5.

About a year ago, I began getting up at 3 a.m. I do not need an external alarm clock. I just wake up.

Because of this, I was able to start a new service:

It takes me 3 hours a day to write it.

I recommend that people start training themselves to sleep for 15 minutes less each day. If you work best in the morning, this is where to cut corners.

Get up earlier. That adds 78 hours a year. At a 40-hour week, that is almost two work weeks.

The extra time should be devoted to something important. You must resist the snooze button.
