The book's subtitle is accurate: The Definitive History of the National Council of Churches and Its Leftist Policies -- From 1908 to the Present. It was published in 1975.

The Establishment Left has always had multiple outlets for its views. These outlets also serve as mobilizing organizations.

For American Protestantism, the National Council of Churches (Federal Council of Churches prior to 1950), has been the primary representative organization of the American Establishment. The NCC has been overwhelmingly Leftist in its economic views ever since its beginning in 1908. Dr. Singer documents this fact in Unholy Alliance.
