High Cost of Good Health

Gary North - May 17, 2014

It turns out that the healthier you are, the more you will pay in medical expenses when you are over age 65.

Why? Simple. You will live longer.

Then you will get a chronic disease. "Chronic" means "lasts longer than your long-term plans."

A couple at age 65 who are in good health will pay $260,000 in medical care expenses. A couple in poor health will pay $220,000. This is explained here: //www.garynorth.com/snip/1137.htm

Most couples at age 65 have not factored this into their plans. "I feel like a spring chicken!" As Foghorn Leghorn put it so well: "Cluck, cluck, you dumb cluck."

It is easy to ignore this. Don't.
