No TV Blackouts
If you own a TV satellite dish, you may have experienced blackouts during storms. This is a disadvantage of satellite TV vs. cable TV. Cable has its own defects, such as fewer programs in digital mode and weakened signals when more people are subscribed.
There is a cheap solution to the blackout problem. It is not intuitive. Spray the dish with Pam four times a year.
It turns out that the cause of the blackouts is raindrops. It's not lightening. When you spray the dish with Pam, it keeps the raindrops from sticking to the dish.
There is another possible solution. If the disk is mounted to the side of your house, mount a clear piece if fiberglass in front of it. Water will be kept away from the dish.
