Learn New Software

Gary North - September 17, 2016

Beginning in January, I must bite the digital bullet. I must learn InDesign.

I have known this for five years. But I have procrastinated.

InDesign is the premier typesetting program. I need it to write my magnum opus on Christian economics.

It will probably take me 100 hours to get competent. That's two hours a day for two months.

I also need to get proficient on Scrivener. That's another 100 hours.

I can do both in two months if I hustle. I had better hustle.

I will finish my final course for the Ron Paul Curriculum in December. That is my goal, anyway. Then I will re-allocate the hours I spend on course development to learning software.

I suggest that you do the same: one new program a year. Maybe you can master one new app instead. I don't do apps. Dumb phones do not use apps.

My point is this: do not get left behind. Digits will either empower you or run over you. I recommend the former.

But it's no picnic.
