Murray Rothbard has told the amazing story of how the New York bankers sold the FED to Congress. His little book on The Origins of the Federal Reserve is a masterpiece.

From his book, I have sifted the chronology of the banks' propaganda program: 17 years. They did it by capturing a handful of business organizations, a handful of academic guilds, the Progressive intelligentsia, and the newspapers. One man was at the center of the propaganda machine, long forgotten: Charles Conant. His career shows what one dedicated, well-funded man can accomplish. He deserves a Ph.D. dissertation.
