You surely can do it if you have nothing important to say. It's done all the time.

Tom Woods has a successful podcast. He also publishes eBooks. He used to work like a madman to write a book published by a publisher. Then he figured out that publishers keep 90% of the money. He wised up.

Now he is his own publisher. He keeps 100% of the money.
