Replacement for ObamaCare
It would be best to get repeal without any replacement. But if Congress is determined to get a replacement, it must look across the border.
No, not to Canada. To Mexico.
There are Mexicans who want to come to the USA, but not for its healthcare delivery system.
Canadians who are tired of 18-month delays for routine surgery come here for our medical system. If they were smart, they would fly directly to Mexico City.
Here is how the Mexican system delivers. //www.garynorth.com/snip/1255.htm
This is not the sort of system that Nancy Pelosi was willing to accept. So, we didn't get it. We got a 900-page nightmare. //www.garynorth.com/snip/1256.htm
This does not count follow-up regulations to implement the law. If typed out, double-spaced, from the fine print of the Federal Register, that would add another 40,000 pages . . . as of 2013. //www.garynorth.com/snip/1257.htm
ObamaCare's premiums are rising. Insurers are dropping out.
There are better ways. Freedom is best, but the Mexican system is better than ObamaCare.
We will not get it, of course. There are too many special-interest groups to placate: hospitals, the pharmaceutical industry, the insurance industry, and voters.
No Congressman was allowed by Pelosi to read ObamaCare in advance. No matter. Not one of them would have, even if he had been allowed to by Pelosi.
Who can understand 900 pages of gibberish that took 40,000 more pages to apply? Congress just votes. "It will all work OK for my career." Maybe so. But not for the taxpayers.
Basically, Congress is not as effective as the Mexican government in this area. That tells us something about where we are today, politically speaking.
"We don't need no stinking ObamaCare."
