The Key Breakthrough in My Second 56-Year-Old Project

Once in a great while, something bizarre happens to me. Once in a while, something convenient happens to me.

When something bizarre and convenient happens, I call it providential. If it's providential, I can implement whatever is convenient without more work.

On Friday the 13th, 2017, I finished my last of 1,352 video lessons for the Ron Paul Curriculum. That took me 3 1/2 years. That fulfilled an idea I had in 1960.

I had another idea in 1960, a few months earlier. I wanted to find out what the Bible says about economics. I have been working on this ever since.

With the first 56-year-old project finished, this leaves the second.

I took three grandsons to the library on Saturday afternoon, January 14. I took along a copy of my introductory economics book, Inherit the Earth, which I wrote in 1987. At that time, I had finished three volumes of my economic commentary on the Bible. I had 27 volumes to go. (The first volume in 1982 turned into two volumes in 2012, when the commentaries were completed.)

I read Chapter 1 of Inherit the Earth. I skimmed others. I was not satisfied. I was not sure why not. After about 30 minutes, it came to me: the outline for my summation books on Christian economics. I had waited 56 years for this. It is crucial for finishing my other lifetime project.

It seemed obvious as soon as I thought of it. It took about an hour to fill it in.

Creation

Ownership
Delegation
Boundaries
Imputation
Inheritance

Fall

Autonomy
Accumulation
Theft
Cursed scarcity
Disinheritance

Redemption

Confession
Stewardship
Property rights
Entrepreneurship
Capitalization

I did not suffer even one hour of mental groping. But it took 56 years to get to that crucial 30 minutes.

It's duck soup from this point on. It's paint by the numbers. It will be about 150 typeset. If I had to, I could write it in a week with NaturallySpeaking. But I have plenty of time. I may take two months.

I will then write a teacher's edition: another 500 pages. I would like to finish this before December. Then on to the scholar's edition. That will be two volumes -- maybe three. That will take a year or two. Finally, the leader's edition: another year.

I must also produce videos for Sunday schools courses. I need videos as hooks. "Like my videos? Now read my book."
