Homeschooled Bluegrass: The Snyder Family

Gary North - December 30, 2017

Educational experts warn that homeschooled children lack social skills. Like these kids, I guess. Homeschooling makes them withdrawn. Insecure. At a loss to express themselves.

This is the Snyder family. The two kids started playing at a young age. You can watch the fiddling daughter grow up in these videos.

How about a little European jazz? Django lives!

They kept getting older.

The girl sounds a lot like Alison Krauss. Her fiddling seems as good, although when performers get this good, who can tell? Her voice and phrasing are close. I think her brother plays the guitar as well Dan Tyminski of Union Station, who backs up Krauss.

She now writes the vocals. Royalties, you understand. Passive income.

The thumb-up kid now plays banjo.

Here is how the parents got them started.
