Video: Lester Frank Ward and the Progressive Movement
I delivered this lecture at the Mises Institute at the 2018 Austrian Economics Research Conference. I gave it on March 24.
It deals with the supreme theorist of central planning in American social thought, Lester Frank Ward, who died in 1913, the year of Progressivism's triumph: the inauguration of Woodrow Wilson as President, the official ratification of 16th amendment (income tax), the ratification of the 17th amendment (direct popular election of U.S. Senators), and the Federal Reserve System.
In it, I refer to a handout. It is posted here: https://www.garynorth.com/WardASC.pdf
