I am not a big spender on consumer goods. I buy used books on Amazon, but these are for business.
I don't buy new gadgets. I rarely use them, and I hate the learning curve that accompanies them. I still use Windows 8.1, but I much prefer Windows 7. I have Windows 7 on my ancient and wonderful Lenovo laptop.
Therefore, I appreciated this article on ten "poor man's habits."
I have not adopted all of them. It recommends libraries over buying used books on Amazon. I take my four grandsons to the library every Saturday, but they mostly play video games. It was just remodeled. Why? It is always empty.
The books are few, and the selection is pathetic. A big city library is different. But it takes time to drive there. My time is valuable. Amazon is fast and cheap. I mark up the books.
For me, a Cricket phone contract would be wiser than AT&T's, but I don't have a smartphone. My wife does. I guess she uses the features. Look into it.
