When you travel, you may be tempted to use free Wi-Fi in an airport. Don't do it, unless you have taken two or more of these steps.
Safety is more complex than you think. That's why you may decide to skip something. Don't. It's better to do without access to the Web until you get to your motel.
Then take the same steps. But the risk is lower at a motel.
