Terrorist Bumper Stickers Identified by the Government
The U.S. government has a program to train local law enforcement agencies to identify prospective terrorists. One of the ways agencies can identify potential terrorists is to look for bumper stickers.
To help our nation’s law enforcement and intelligence agencies confront these threats, the State and Local Anti-Terrorism Training (SLATT) Program provides training in detecting, investigating, and prosecuting extremist criminal activity, including activity that is inspired by international events. This focus distinguishes SLATT training from first responder and related weapons of mass destruction/nuclear, biological, and chemical response training provided to emergency service personnel. In response to the September 11 attacks, SLATT expanded its training and research on foreign-inspired terrorism to include specific organizations believed to be involved in the attacks.
1. SLATT is a joint effort of the Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). It is funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) of the U.S. Department of Justice.
The program trains officers in identifying bumper stickers. Bumper stickers are not popular these days. I have yet to see a Romney/Ryan sticker, let alone an Obama/Biden bumper sticker. It seems that nobody wants to be identified with our nation's teams of candidates. Nobody wants to get blamed after the fact.
Nevertheless, the government teaches local governments to keep their eyes open for stickers like these.
Or these.
What is RAHOWA? Wikipedia informs us that it is an acronym created by Ben Klassen, a white supremacist. It stands for racial holy war. I do not recall seeing one of these bumper stickers. Mr. Klassen is a self-made theologian. He promotes Nature’s Eternal Religion. In his 1987 book, Rahowa--This Planet is All Ours, he claims that Jews created Christianity to make white people weaker, and said that the first priority should be to “smash the Jewish Behemoth.” The government tars and feathers opposition to the United Nations Organization with the white supremacy movement.
The UN is not our friend. We do not need a bumper sticker to figure out that.
