Video: Pranksters Invade Bankers Awards, Hand Out Award for LIBOR Rigging

A group of pranksters somehow got into the annual meeting of the United Kingdom’s richest banks. The annual meeting hands out awards to the most innovative ways to make money.

Earlier this year, Barclays Bank was fined almost half a billion dollars for having illegally rigged the LIBOR, the world’s most important free market interest rate. Collusion among major banks has been widespread for years.

Anyone who thinks the Bank of England’s highest officials were unaware of this collusion is himself unaware.

There is a video of the prank.

The members must have thought it was part of the official ceremony. They laughed.

The joke’s on them.
