When you go to YouTube to watch an information video, especially a lecture, you can cut your investment of time by 50%.
Before you start the video, go to the gear icon on the lower right-hand side of the YouTube player: Settings. Click it. You will be given five options.
Option #3 is playback speed. Double it: 2x.
For most speeches, this will not reduce your ability to understand what the speaker is saying. Also, his voice will not sound like Alvin the chipmunk's voice.
Test this. I gave a speech at the Mises Institute on the difference between a job and a calling. It lasted an hour. You can hear it in 30 minutes. (I recommend this. It may help your career.)
