I take my four grandsons to lunch every Saturday. Then it's back to my place for an afternoon of video games.
My oldest gets to use a two-screen desktop in the basement. The other three have Kindle tablets, which I bought on sale for about $120 each two years ago.
I usually take them to Subway. I buy two of them half sandwiches. The oldest two split a 12-inch. I don't buy drinks. Their mom tries to keep sugar consumption low. It usually costs me about $16 for all four meals.
This is cheap. But if I took them to Taco Bell, and they each got two tacos or two tostadas, it would cost under $9. Even if they got three each, which would be a lot of food, it would be about $13.
If you choose your fast food restaurant carefully, and you avoid paying for sodas, it's cheap to take a family to lunch or dinner.
Capitalism works.
