I think this is accurate.

I will not be coming to church until this plays itself out. I am in the high age group that is really at risk.

I don't know when it will hit locally, but I am sure that it will. I want to be out of range if possible. I am playing the odds.

I assume that you broadcast the sermon on line each week. I will watch.

As this spreads, others will take my approach. They may not talk about it, but one day they will not be in church. You will probably be able to see this in the attendance records.

My grandmother told me the stories of being in Washington DC when the Spanish flu hit. Those stories have been in my head for at least 60 years. I have done some reading on the issue.

In the early stages, there is no panic. Then, without warning, panic hits. People change their behavior.

The elders will be called upon to take risks in dealing with sick people who need counseling. This will be especially true of the teaching elders. You will be in the front lines, along with healthcare professionals.

There is no doubt in my mind that the hospital where I get my cancer treatments is going to be in near pandemonium before summer is over. They're going to pull every healthcare team member into treating coronavirus suffers. They're already doing this in Italy. They are literally letting old people die. They cannot service all the people who are trying to get help, and this includes people who aren't suffering from the coronavirus. They have adopted triage. It's like a battlefield.

I assume that I will not be able to get treated. In any case, I will not want to go to the hospital. Prostate cancer is slow-growing before it becomes fatal.

The coronavirus is not.

Here is his rely.

Hi Gary,

We will miss you but do take care. The livestream is a good option. Yes, we’ll have some decrease in attendance. We will keep seeking to use good judgment, and I will look forward to our church stepping up. Do pray extra for us.

And let us know if you need anything. God bless,
