The Greatest World War I Documentary -- Free
World War I ended on November 11, 1918.
Two years ago, Peter Jackson released his incomparable documentary, They Shall Not Grow Old.
He got very rich from "The Lord of the Rings." He put a little of his money to work.
It took his crew three years to produce it.
There has never been anything like it. They eliminated the blotches. They slowed down the movement, so it appears normal.
They hired people to do voice-overs for the silent film -- people from the same region of Great Britain as the men on screen, whose units could be identified. They had the correct accents.
They got the sound right by recording restored weapons.
Then they colorized it.
I saw it in a theater. You can watch it here.
