When you look for a CPA, physician, dentist, or lawyer, how can you find one who is less likely to charge high fees?
There is a technique for locating "hungry" professionals.
If they are actively seeking new clients, they are more likely to charge lower fees. If you are looking for such a practitioner, look for a new one who is just getting started locally.
The trouble is, the local Yellow Pages directory doesn't record who is new and who is established.
There is a technique to overcome this limitation. If you can locate a copy of an older Yellow Pages -- a year or two out of date -- you can compare the lists in each specialty. When you find one who was not listed in the older directory, you have probably found a new practitioner.
The local library may have an old copy. Maybe a local small business does. Ask.
Call several of these new listings. See if they are accepting new patients or clients. Schedule an interview. You won't have to pay a CPA or lawyer for an initial consultation. You will pay for a dentist or physician.
In the consultation, make it clear that you are shopping. You are looking for a reasonable price. You are looking for a permanent relationship. The seller wants clients like this: long-term streams of income.
You are in control as a buyer. Don't waste this unique advantage.
