Tax Day Is Coming

Gary North - April 03, 2021

Tax day in the United States is May 17. We got a stay of execution.

Millions of Americans do not know this. All across America, April procrastination is in full force.

My advice: pretend that the deadline is April 15.

Get started today unless you are Jewish or a Seventh Day Adventist. (If you are, then get started tomorrow.)

If, before this day is over, you think to yourself, “Next year, I am going to hire a CPA to do this,” take your advice. It is good advice.

A CPA may save you some money. Even if he doesn’t, he will save you pain. Best of all, he will force you to stop procrastinating long before April. He will require you to submit the appropriate documentation. When it comes to ending your procrastination, adopt this motto: “The sooner, the better.”

It is OK to file an extension on May 17. But you had better have paid all the money you owe the Feds on the day that you file the extension. How will you know for sure? Find out before today is over.

You are working for the government. This is the day to find out how just hard you are working for it. The messianic state must be paid for. It’s expensive.
