They had been camped in Zuccotti Park. When Zuccotti Park's owner, Brookfield Office Properties, closed the park to them in mid-November, the movement dissipated. There were sporadic demonstrations over the next year, but by late 2012, it was gone.

These were not hard-core revolutionaries. They were looking for some excitement in the name of overcoming inequality. They were not members of the poor and oppressed. The poor and the oppressed do not quit their jobs for several months to go to New York City to live in summer camping tents in a privately-owned park while demonstrating against capitalist oppression.

The tax code was not significantly changed by Obama and Pelosi when they had control of Congress from early 2009 until early 2011. No surprise there.
