This is for getting on a mailing list briefly, yet avoiding follow-up mailings.
I got this tip from one of my subscribers.

Mailinator.com is a free service to give temporary email addresses to people.
I use this when I run into those websites that say, "Give me your email address and I will send you my free report" or things of that nature. Sometimes I want to be on their mailing list, in which case I use my real email. Sometimes I want to see the quality of the report before I decide if I want to have them sending me emails every day or renting out my email address.
When you need to provide an email address, you can use any characters @ mailinator.com. For instance, if your dog is named Fluffy, you can enter "fluffy@mailinator.com."
Then when you go to the Mailinator website, you enter "fluffy" in the search box and it will take you to the correct inbox where you get the download link to the report.
Mailinator deletes all messages after a few hours to save their disk space.
Some websites are wise to this trick, and they blacklist any @mailinator.com email address, but most do not.
