I received an email from an old friend this week. He is officially retired.
What he told me was a horror story.
[My wife] and I were both negatively affected by the 2nd Moderna shot - I ended up with heart, kidney and thyroid issues, resulting in six hospital visits and three surgeries. Fortunately, I seemed to have recovered, as [has my wife]. On our doctor's advice, we will not be getting the booster shots.
This was about six months ago.
Anybody who says that the vaccines are risk-free is living in a fantasy world. There are always risks.
He did not have to get the shots. She did. That is because she is a real estate saleswoman. She is in close contact with people. He spent most of his career working online. He has run a series of highly successful online businesses.
As far as I know, he always had good health. He had no warning that he was going to suffer effects this damaging to his body.
I can well understand why his physician has said that they do not have to get booster shots. In any case, booster shots are not a matter of law anyway. He lives in Florida.
The federal government has not mandated booster shots.
Corporations that are mandating the vaccines when there is no law mandating that they do this are opening themselves to lawsuits. If anyone who has been forced to take the vaccines has an experience like my friend's, the firm may get sued.
It is clear that people who have been vaccinated are still carriers of the disease. No company's lawyers will be able to stand in front of a jury and say that the firm mandated the vaccines in order to protect other employees. Meanwhile, juries are going to get more hostile to companies that require the vaccines. The longer that people are being forced to do it who do not want to do it, the more likely that juries will include people who are anti-VAXX.
The Big Pharma firms got permission to release these untested vaccines to the public. They are not subject to lawsuits. This does not immunize companies that mandate the use of these legally protected vaccines.
I do not think Congress is going to mandate vaccines. The Democrats do not have the votes. They also are risking political backlash in next year's congressional elections. So, Biden is going to have to get the courts to support his executive order. The courts may not do this. At least 20 states are going to challenge his executive order in the courts. This is a nightmare for the Democrats.
Meanwhile, deaths from the disease have declined to such an extent that the need for vaccines can no longer be demonstrated.
All of this is good news. It is especially good news with respect to the next pandemic, whenever it arrives. Politicians are going to think long and hard before locking down everyone in their jurisdictions. The resistance will be there from the beginning. There will not be as much low-hanging fruit next time. There will be less automatic compliance. There will be instant resistance. It will be organized resistance.
