Security for the international meeting of APEC in Australia cost $140 million. That's Australian dollars, but it's still a lot of money.

These pranksters, called the Chaser, pretended to be Canadian officials. They got within 30 feet of the closed meeting where the nations' leaders were.

The Chaser is a group of professional comedians. They have a national TV show satirizing the news: The Chaser's War on Everything. Their slogan is to the point: "Striving for mediocrity in a world of excellence since 1999." They were up against some even more mediocre talent. Australia's security services are not laughing.

This does not add to my confidence regarding government progams to insure national security.
