Google Car Search
Dec. 3, 2007
I stumbled into this one. I was searching Google for a used car. I typed in "Dodge Grand Caravan" and "2004."
Up came a page. At the top of the page was a link. It had a box to type in my zip code. I did. I clicked the link.
I got a page: no cars available. I then changed the year to 2005. Presto! There was a long list.
I tried using Google to search for other brands. The zip code box did not appear.
So, I used the link for the "Dodge Grand Caravan" to identify a generic address for all cars. I got it:
It's set for a zip code of 10000. You can change this. Type in your zip code. Box: "Within 30 miles."
Click the brand of car you're looking for, then the model, then the year.
This is a fantastic service. It turns out that this a part of a broader shopping service called Google Base. You can sell stuff. Find it here:
Google never sleeps. It has more goodies in beta than I can track.
