If you have downloaded the free copy of Camtasia Studio 3, you may be ready for a simple screencast project.

If you have not downloaded it, go here:

Maybe you won't produce a promotional screencast video of my site, despite the prospect of $1,000.

Why not produce a series of how-to videos on getting started with Camtasia Studio 3? Then post them on YouTube.

You can use them to promote your own Website or blog, if you have one. If you don't, why not promote your favorite site? Or mine?

No video should be longer than 10 minutes. Shorter may be better.

Here is what I have in mind.

Video 1: Do a video on how to make your first screencast. First, start the video with an image of your desktop. Tell him you will teach him how to use the program for a simple silent video. The topic: how to download the Camtasia Studio 3 program. Second, activate Camtasia. Third, take the viewer to my page, which describes the program. Summarize what's on this page. Fourth, click through to Myers' download page. Tell the viewer what he is seeing on-screen. Fifth, download the program. Fifth, tell him of your next video: the same procedure, but how to use the audio section of Camtasia. Be sure to rehearse this before shooting it. Get confident. Once it's downloaded, activate it, so that the viewer can see it on his screen.

Video 2: Repeat Video 1, but show how to add narration.

Video 3: Show how to edit the sound track. Make an audible error while you are shooting the video. Then go into the editing section and eliminate the mistake.

Video 4: Show how to add text on-screen.

Go through the Camtasia Studio manual. Do as many videos as you think a new user could use. Teach yourself the program by teaching others.

At the end of each one, direct them to your site. Bill Myers offers affiliate programs. You get 25% of what your link sells. You might want to promote his site. Here are the details:

When they are all finished, post them on YouTube.
