Here Is a Case of Far-Right Anti-Semitism That Even Astounds Me. The Target of His Hatred: Ron Paul

Gary North - January 21, 2008

My professor of Christian philosophy, Cornelius Van Til, once commented: "No matter how much you sharpen a saw that is set at the wrong angle, it will not cut straight."

The following saw is quite sharp. This man's book on the Armenian genocide is quite long: 572 pages. His thesis is quite nutty -- the Jews were behind it! But why? Because they wanted to take over the world, and they needed a holocaust. The Armenians were offered as a literal sacrifice to God.

. . . the Jews needed a holocaust, a burnt offering of masses of people to artificially fulfill their "End Times" plan of apocalyptic war to end all war. . . .

Leading Jews decided that it was Christians who would have to atone for Jewish sins, before the Jewish God would allow the Jews to return to Palestine. Leading Jews decided to mass murder the Armenian Christians as an act of atonement, which would appease their genocidal God (p. 87).

When I read stuff like this, I think of the memorable line of Mitch Jayne, the patter-master of the 1960's era bluegrass group, the Dillards ("The Darlings"). Speaking of the group's witless guitarist, Rodney Dillard, Jayne announced: "We have him here to remind you that every sixty seconds, mental illness strikes."

This assessment of the Jews was preceded by a 17-page, fine-print bibliography of books that supposedly prove that English Christians had long favored the restoration of Palestine to the Jews, a bibliography going back centuries. Problem: he does not list page references in even one of these books that supposedly prove his point. Still, it is one of the most amazing bibliographies I have ever seen. What a waste!

Next, he applies his sharp mind to Ron Paul.

Conclusion: A high IQ need not save anyone from the far reaches of fantasy -- a fantasy based entirely on hate.

There are not many people like this man, fortunately, but they are usually members of the radical Right. The rest of us on the Right get blamed.
