Of course, politicians won't let this happen. They will therefore renege on these promises. Then the families of the oldsters will have to dig into their savings and support their parents. They are not prepared to do this. They are making no plans for this.
I suggest that you send this page to whatever relative is likely to be the one who inherits the problem -- you. You and he must work out an arrangement, either sooner or later.
