I posted this article on June 26 the new Social Gospel. It discussed Jim Wallis.

The next day, I spotted this on the Website of David Lipscomb University in Nashville, formerly one of the most conservative Christian colleges in the country.

As the November vote draws nearer, Lipscomb University is offering a chance for local voters to hear four political and religious leaders who have lived out their faith on the opposite ends of the political spectrum as well as wielded influence on the 2008 presidential campaign.

Former Tennessee Senator Bill Frist will speak at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 26, in the Collins Alumni Auditorium.

Jim Wallis, progressive evangelical leader, author of God's Politics and The Great Awakening and founder of Sojourners, the largest network of progressive Christians in the United States, will speak at 7 p.m. Friday, June 27 in the Collins Alumni Auditorium.

Shaun Casey, faith advisor for the Obama presidential campaign and former faith advisor to Sen. John Kerry in the 2004 election, and Stephen V. Monsma, author of Healing for a Broken World: Christian Perspectives on Public Policy, who will hold a one-on-one discussion about how their faith has led them to their positions on opposite ends of the political spectrum at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, in the Ezell Center.

All four men will discuss their personal experience with faith issues within the political arena and their perspective on the role of religion in this year's political climate and presidential election cycle.

Balancing a retired middle-of-the-road Republican Senator -- a Tennessee multimillionaire who might make a big donation -- with three New Social Gospel advocates is not what I call balance.

The next day, the president of the university hosted a forum on advancing Jim Wallis' project.

Randy Lowry, President, Lipscomb University, Moderator, and Christin Shatzer, Director of Service Learning, SALT Program, Lipscomb University, Convener, "Town Hall: Advancing Jim Wallis' Project."

This sends a signal to anyone who pays attention: "We allow all views here. Yes, we cater to Church of Christ families, who are intensely conservative. But we want to position this university as being open to the theological enemies of the people who support this institution. That is, we are like 99% of all denominational Christian colleges. We are not committed to any one view."

I say, "Get your Left-wing politics straight from the horse's mouth -- and at a discount price. Don't send your child to one of these high-priced compromising schools. Let your child stay home, work locally, and pay for his/her education." Here's how:

Make sure your denominational college is not playing these games. Do not tolerate even one infraction. It's your after-tax money. Don't waste it.
