Used Toys
Nov. 1, 2008
This will be a tight year. I think it will be even tighter next year. It's time to cut budgets.
Cutting your Christmas budget is imperative. A good way to do this is through garage sales. Used toys go for a pittance.
A week ago, my wife stopped at a garage sale. She bought a toy train set and table for $25 that would cost twenty times that retail, if new. My grandson has been nutty about trains for two years. She bought a toy dog for 25 cents. It is also worth 20 times more, new. She bought a scooter for $10.
Parents and grandparents think that a young child needs all new toys. This is silly. For small children, brand new isn't required for Christmas. "New for me" is all that is required.
There are two months before Christmas. Start shopping now for real bargains. Garage sales offer real value for toys.
Your time is valuable. Limit your shopping to toys. Don't look at everything. Get in and get out fast.
