Jerks for Jesus: A Huge Organization

Gary North

April 21, 2009

Jerks for Jesus is a large organization. I am in constant contact with many of its members. They write to me quite frequently.

Its members specialize. Some are blowhards. Others are tut-tutters. Still others are experts in finance. It's a shame they have no money.

These people have beams in their eyes, and they are in constant search of slivers in everyone else's.

Jerks for Jesus are humble -- arrogantly, in-your-face humble. They are invariably strangers. They write to public figures to give them a piece of their mind, which they cannot spare. They are not competent in their field of assured expertise. They have written no books, published in no journals, and rarely -- I would say never -- even have a blog site with daily or even weekly postings.

But they have opinions. Oh, my, do they have opinions.

Let me provide a recent example from a man named Conner. He is well-named.

You are charging for many information bits that should be freely distributed in the interest of freedom. This makes you no different, in my humble opinion, than those whom those bits expose. One cannot serve both God and mammon.

To your credit, your research, which you have spent time and money assembling is reasonably priced and timely in its presentation.

The biblical admonishment is to flee evil. To expose it where and when ever encountered. Information which delves to the heart of what is driving this world today should be freely given. From thence will blessings flow. Just a thought upon encountering your site.

What he wants is free financial advice. But he does not say this. No, he is deeply concerned about my eternal soul -- a concern that will go away if I give him the free advice he seeks. He wants access to the benefits of Mammon -- how to get rich -- but without paying for it. He wants Mammon free of charge. That, you understand, is true holiness.

Connor is a con man, and his first victim is himself.

If I could buy stock in Jerks for Jesus, I would. It is a large and growing organization. Sadly, it is strictly non-profit. Losses are its claim to fame. It attracts specialists in this area. Lots of them. How many do you know?
