One of the most amazing sites on the Web is the improbably named Dinkytown. It is a site filled with calculators. The site is free.
Especially useful are the financial calculators and debt calculators. You can find out how much you owe, how long it will take you to pay it off, and how much money in interest you will pay.
It is a great exercise for people just starting out to see what debt is going to cost them. Especially shocking is the time it takes to pay off a loan if you pay the minimum monthly payment. This can take over a decade.
