State universities are cheaper. Only a few dozen private universities have huge endowments and long waitings lists.

No name private colleges offer third-rate, overpriced educations. Students gain no advantage in graduating from them. The schools are warmed-over imitations of Ivy League schools.

Now they are in trouble. They can't compete on the basis of price. They can't compete through quality. They will be ground up by the web and cheap digital technologies. All they have is state accreditation.
