If you had a fire, and your computer's hard drive was destroyed, along with the external hard drive where you back up your hard drive, what would you do?
That happened to a friend of mine. He runs a day care. It burned to the ground. He lost all of his client files.
These days, there are online data storage firms that store your hard drive's data. These sites automatically search your hard drive, see what new things you have added, and back up these new files daily.
What is astounding is the enormous price variation they charge for the same service. The more you store, the more you pay with some of them. The variation is staggering. One site charges $132 a month to store 1,000 gigabytes. Most charge $5 a month. One charges $19 a year for unlimited file storage: Online Storage Solution. Yet the technical services are pretty much the same.
Some of these services offer file sharing. You can let others see some of your data, such as photographs.
