I have created a free website: www.DeliveranceFromDebt.com. It is aimed at Christians with financial problems. But I have provided tools that anyone can use.
It doesn't matter what religion you hold. If you are in financial trouble, my site can help.
The site offers free budgeting software. It also offers a tutorial on how to use it. I offer a stripped-down version that lets you add your own categories. I have a detailed one that has lots of categories. You may want to remove some. They are here:
Then there are tools for goal-setting. I include ideas for three time frames: long term, medium term, and short term. I also offer articles on how to set goals efficiently.
You do have goals, right?
Then there are several free programs that let you handle your finances. You set a budget. Will you stick with it? If you have Quicken, that's enough. But what if you don't? I suggest that you get started now. It won't cost you a dime.
Still, you just don't know where to start. You would get started if you did know, but you don't know. Well, have I got a deal for you!
You want practical steps. I have assembled an entire department of first-hand accounts of things that people deep in debt did to dig themselves out. You don't have to do a dozen things to get started. Just do one. Which one? Here are some suggestions.
