This is for IE 8 users.

If you want to find a word or phrase on a Web page, this is easy to do. Click Ctrl-F. That is, depress the Control key and simultaneously press F.

A tool bar will appear immediately under your top tool bar. It is labeled Find. To the right of Find is an empty box. Type in a word or phrase into the box. As soon as you do, this word or phrase is highlighted on the page. If the word appears more than once, every instance is highlighted.

You can scroll down the page to find the highlighted words. Or you can click the Next button. One by one, your screen goes to the next instance of the word.

To get rid of the box, click the X to the left of Find.

With IE 6 or IE7, you get this screen:

Word-Find Feature

With a Mac, it's Command-F.

With Firefox, you need the toolbar.

Google's toolbar has this feature.

This is a great time-saver.
