Make No Web Purchases Without This.

There is a rule that I follow in all of my purchases on the Web. If the Website does not have "Contact Us" on the home page, I do not buy. I make no exceptions.

I want to be able to contact the company if there is a problem with my order. The absence of "Contact Us" tells me that the company is run by amateurs.

There are two other tip-offs. (1) The site has no "terms of use" link. (2) It has no "privacy policy" link. This makes the firm vulnerable to the Federal Trade Commission. Again, their absence says "amateurs who don't know the law."

I want to deal with professionals who know their business and at least the rudiments of the law. Others may mean well, but they are flying blind in terms of marketing. I want to deal with firms that are likely to be on-line a year from now.
