Some banks offer a bonus to customers who have their mortgages issued by the bank. If the customer sets up a special mortgage-payment account, the bank offers a bonus. My bank offers $250.
The account automatically deducts the mortgage payment. This reduces the likelihood that the debtor misses a payment. This is turn reduces the paperwork associated with correcting the account.
I recommend that you find out if your mortgage-holder offers a bonus like this.
