Cable Rate Hike and How to Negotiate a Better Deal

Cable TV rates are about to soar. I plan to cut back on my services to the Internet and the basic core programs: no hi-def stations, no frills, no free movies. Just POTS: plain old television stations.

With Netflix expanding its number of free download/view movies, I don't need cable service to supply a few old free movies that are run commercial-free.

If you are not willing to cut back on the premium cable services, you had better negotiate your annual rate.

You can do this by locking in one year's service, plus agreeing to pay a slight increase in the following year.
