It is the end of January. If you are thinking about developing a budget for the year, this is the month to start. The longer you wait, the more likely you will think "Next year, I've got to get organized."
There are several free on-line services that let you set up a budget and monitor it. You could buy Quicken, but maybe you want to save money on software. You can join one of these services today.
Some of them function as support groups: Mint, Wesabe. You can interact on-line with others who are trying to get a handle on their spending. These groups also give advice on how to save money.
For some people, reinforcement is crucial. If you are such a person, join up.
I cover this and other related topics on my free Website.
You can find links to the various on-line services under "Free Tools."
