If you are not on YouTube, you should think about information videos that you could produce easily. These could relate to a hobby. They could be like a video scrapbook.
The new Windows 7 has a built-in video program, "Windows Live Movie Maker." It's good for making a video scrapbook. It gets you started. If you have a digital camera, you can make a video. You can post it on Facebook or YouTube or both. I suggest that you try it. You will overcome your own procrastination. The software is limited. It's a get-started-fast program.
Microsoft has an advanced video production program that is powerful. It's called "Movie Maker." It's up to version 2.6 for Vista and Windows 7. It's at 2.1 for Windows XP. Search Google for "Movie Maker." That will take you to version 2.1. Search for "Movie Maker 2.6" for the Windows 7 version. Or click here:
Download it. Use it for some home videos. Post them.
This may be all you will need. If you buy a cheap $30 Radio Shack lapel microphone, you will have all you really need to produce an effective video.
