The U.S.S. Liberty was attacked by Israeli forces in 1967. For those Americans who were adults at the time, the story in the media never made sense. How could this have happened? There was no follow-up by the media. The academic world has ignored it ever since. Even today, there are no detailed discussions of the event in books on the Vietnam War era.

There is a site devoted to the attack on the Liberty. It is here: http://www.ussliberty.org.

Liberty veterans have a site. It is here: http://www.usslibertyveterans.org/index.html.

There is a documentary on the incident. Because of YouTube, we can see this video, although in 10-minute segments.

For those of us who never trusted Lyndon Johnson, this video confirms our worst suspicions.

Note how many of these men wear the Congressional Medal of Honor. I have never seen a video with this many MoH recipients. My assumption is that they are not deliberately lying.

As a trained historian, I believe that this incident should receive more detailed attention while the participants are still alive.

If there is counter-evidence, I am willing to post it.
